Hey there! It’s Aniah the daughter of Indrea (eco of Quad Clothing Company) and I would like to share some of my experiences from my childhood of being a young model and the daughter of a designer.
Growing up being a child of a designer had its ups and downs. I was basically born into the industry! From constructing dresses, and doing parades, to photo shoots and fashion shows and events I would definitely say I know a lot about fashion.
Thinking back over the years I realized that my mother taught me a lot, and not just about fashion but about how to become an entrepreneur and run a business of my own.
One of my favorite parts about being a model for my mom was getting to wear all of the unique and beautiful dresses she made with hard work and dedication. Trying them on made me feel special and it was a perk knowing that she could always make us custom outfits if we wanted.
One year the night before Lake Charles Fashion Week my mother and I were preparing for the show ahead. We were planning who would wear a specific garment, how their hair and makeup would be, etc. Soon later my mom had fallen asleep and I continued to organize everything for the show. When she woke up everything was prepared and finished and she was so proud of me. That day I knew that I could be great at something no matter what it was.
During my years of modeling I enjoyed doing photoshoots the most. It was a gratifying way to express myself and I loved wearing the clothing my mom made for me.
Fashion shows were very fun to be in though I think my scene is backstage rather than front and center. I loved walking out and posing for the cameras but I believe that I am better at preparing and making sure everything is top notch backstage. I love helping run errands before the different shows start because it is always a busy time and work is always needed to be done!
After years of helping my mother in the fashion industry I finally burned out and decided that I didn’t want to model as much as I did before and that I wanted to venture out and try new things.
I now write blogs for my mother and for the company and I love being able to express my writing while also talking about fashion and common topics today!
At the end of the day I am so grateful that I was able to experience life in the fashion industry and there will always be the model I once was inside of me. The company is always casting models for upcoming shows and events. If your in the market for a great time and up to the challenge of learning all about the fashion industry, then QUAD is definitely the place to connect with.
